DTMart
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026.
DTMart is a shopping platform for small shops and home businesses in Sri Lanka and Canada, run by ZAIDBEEN GROUP INC. DTMart connects you with independent local shops near you. This policy explains, in plain words, what information the DTMart apps collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers both the DTMart customer app and the DTMart Seller app. You only ever see shops in your own country: the country saved on your account decides which shops you can browse and order from.
What we collect
- Your name and phone number, so your account can be created and shops can reach you about your orders.
- Your email address, if you give one or sign in with email and password instead of a phone code.
- Your delivery addresses, so shops know where to deliver.
- Your location, only when you use it: the customer app uses it to show shops near you and how far they are, and a shop sets its own location so nearby customers can find it. We do not track your location in the background.
- Your orders: what you ordered, from which shop, the amounts, and whether you paid cash, by card, or used the shop book.
- Your book records with a shop: charges, payments, and your balance, so you and the shop can both see the same book.
- Messages you send to a shop through the app, such as questions about an item.
- Your language choice, and a notification token if you allow notifications, so we can send order updates to your phone.
- If you pay by card in Canada: the payment is processed by Stripe. We learn whether the payment succeeded or failed and see the card's brand and last four digits; we never see or store your full card number.
- If you run a shop: your shop profile, catalogue and photos, your plan and billing status, and your Stripe payout account status, so your shop can sell and be paid.
Why we use it
We use this information only to run the service: to sign you in, show you nearby shops and their prices, pass your orders to the shop, keep the shop book straight, deliver your goods, pay shops what they have earned, and answer your questions.
Who sees it
- The shop you order from sees your name, phone number, delivery address, your order, and your book records with that shop. A shop cannot see your orders or book records with other shops.
- Your account and order information is stored and processed for us by Google Firebase, the platform the apps are built on. Our order-processing systems run on Google Cloud in the United States (the us-central1 region), so your information may be stored or processed in the United States as well as in the country where you use DTMart.
- If you pay by card in Canada, Stripe processes the payment under Stripe's own privacy policy. Shops that take card payments receive their payouts through their own Stripe accounts.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How paying works
In Sri Lanka, orders are paid in cash when your goods are delivered or picked up, or the shop adds the amount to your book to settle with the shop later (see the Terms of Use). DTMart does not take card or online payments for Sri Lanka orders.
In Canada, a shop may offer card payment when you place an order. Card payments are processed by Stripe: the money is held securely inside Stripe and is released to the shop's own Stripe account when your order is completed, minus DTMart's 5% commission on the items subtotal. If the order is cancelled before it is completed, the payment is refunded to you in full. DTMart itself never holds your payment, and we never see or store your full card number. Where a shop does not offer card payment, or you choose not to use it, you pay the shop in cash or through the shop's book, as the shop offers.
Shops' paid plans are billed by card through Stripe from the DTMart shop panel, or through the App Store or Google Play inside the DTMart Seller app as store subscriptions roll out. Plans are never charged through the customer app.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, and to correct it if it is wrong: email info@zaidgroup.ca and we will respond. These access and correction rights are recognised under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for our Canadian users and under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act (No. 9 of 2021) for our Sri Lankan users. You can also update your name, phone number and country yourself in your profile, and delete your account as described below.
Keeping and deleting your information
Your information is kept while your account is open, so your orders and book records stay available to you and the shops you use. You can delete your account yourself, inside either app: open Sign-in & security (from Profile in the customer app, or Settings in the DTMart Seller app) and choose Delete my account. Deleting removes your sign-in and strips your name, phone number and email from your profile. Shops keep their order records and book pages as they are, so their accounts stay correct — past orders keep the name they were placed under — and your book accounts are closed to new charges. If you still owe money on a shop book, the app will ask you to settle it with the shop first. If you cannot use the app, email us at info@zaidgroup.ca and we will delete your account for you.
Security
Your information travels between your phone and our systems over encrypted connections, and access to accounts is protected by your sign-in. Keep your phone and your sign-in code private: anyone with them can use your account.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here and in the apps. Continuing to use DTMart after a change means you accept the updated policy.
